IM003665.jpgtheatre_1.jpg The drama theatre house “Ivan Radoev” is founded in 1919. The building it occupies is declared for a monument of architecture with national significant. The interior is a ranged according the traditions of European city style at the end of XIX century. The institution imposes its presence in the cultural life not only in the town but in the theatrical domain of the country.

 Countless are the concerts' performances of the Chorus and severnqshki.jpgOrchestra of the Northern ensemble for folklore songs and dances in Pleven. It was founded in 1959. The ensemble performs authentic and originally rearranged works of Northern Bulgaria before home and foreigner spectators. There are number of international recognitions – first prizes and laureate nominations at International chorus competitions, many recordings for Bulgarian National Radio, BBC, Moscow, Bratislava, Brussels, Geneva, Ankara.

picture_2.jpg The Art gallery “Iliya Beshkov” is founded in 1958 as a branch to the Museum of history. It is separated in 1973 as an independent institution. It has a rich fund of works – paintings, black and white drawing, and sculptures. Works of Vladimir Dimitrov – “The Master”, Dechko Uzunov, Nikolay Pavlovich, Georgi Danchov, Iliya Beshkov, Svetlin Rusev, Sidoniya Atanasova and some others are kept in the gallery. The gallery exhibits paintings of world famous artists as Rembrandt, Domie, Kathy Kolwitz etc.

 IM008579.jpgPleven philharmonic orchestra with open opera stage exists since around 50 years and for this remarkable period has established itself as one of the leading one in Bulgaria. It is founded by the great Bulgarian musician Sasha Popov. Every year the Philharmonic orchestra performs tenths of concerts in Bulgaria and many European countries, as well accompany the competition for young opera singers in Pleven town. The name of Pleven philharmonic orchestra is related to remarkable Bulgarian and foreign conductors and soloists. Bania_2.jpg

 The standing exhibition-donation “Svetlin Rusev” was opened in 1984 in an exclusively unique building. One of the most famous artists in Bulgaria – Svetlin Rusev donates to its native town Pleven a rich collection of 400 pictures and sculptures of world and Bulgarian masters of art. The standing exhibition offers more than 250 valuable artistic pieces of art.

 The cultural life in town has its indisputable priorities – the international music festival “Katya Popova”, National competition for Bulgarian drama “Ivan Radoev”, National biennale for small events, National biennale in photography “Fodar”, National festival for advancing video films and video production “Artvision” and others.
