Bulgarian Association with intellectual deficiencies (BAID) – Pleven is non government organization of specialist and other persons who interested in the well being of persons with intellectual deficiencies and their relatives. The mission of the organization is to work for adequate life of people with disabilities in order to strengthen their physical and psychic condition, create a confidence in their abilities. The association has implemented projects, funded by Charity know-how, Phare Lien, Foundation “Help for charity”, Foundation “Workshop for civil initiative”.
Association Center “Opened door” is a NGO, established to render help to women, undergone violence, the main purpose being protecting the rights of women, applying all international mechanisms. The center offers the following services: open phone line, psychological consultations, family consulting, social consulting, help and assistance for women who had undergone violence. The center “Opened door” employs psychotherapists, social workers, doctors, lawyers, assistants, volunteers. Presently the center is implementing the project “Sustainable model for development of social enterprise” financed by British Embassy in Sofia .
“Youth Educational center” is an association founded in 1995. It works in the following directions: assisting the building up of civil society by filling up deficits in civil education among students; creating conditions for development of youth activities; assisting children and youngsters in unequal situation etc. The Youth center has implemented projects, financed by the American Agency of International development, PHARE – LIEN-micro projects, the delegation of European Commission in Sofia etc.
“Eco-directions 21” Pleven is an association with non-profit purpose and realizes its activities in favor of society. The members of the association contribute for management and monitoring in the process of ecological equilibrium in environment and social balance of society. The purpose of the association is sustainable economical and social development of Pleven region through encouraging and assisting the bio diversity, increasing the quality of public culture and ecological education of growing up generation and thus the civil culture of the population.
The mission of Association “Znanie” is to work for continuous education and culture of population in order to establish the valuables of civil society. The main objectives of the association are: distribution of knowledge from all fields of science and practice to increase qualification, education and awareness of Pleven district population; assisting the social integrity and personal promotion of persons from various ages, social and marginal groups; assisting the development of the region through providing qualified consultative help to small and medium business; cooperation with organizations, having commitments to continuous education of adults, encouragement of contractors and conducting of social services. Association “Znanie” is implementing projects through programs of the Association of German people's universities, PHARE, program of the Delegation of EU, “Socrates” program some others.
