The deputy mayor eng. Ognyan Tsanev and Dimitrinka Abrasheva– Head of „Ecology” department were the participants in the recent International conference held in Kaiserslautern of the partnership cities on the topic „Increase the role of the cities through innovative pilot projects and global enterprises”.
„The planning of Pleven city  – development of the central city’s part at the beginning of  ХХІ century” was the presentation of our participants, illustrated with rich photo material.

During the time of the conference there were presented   the basic issues, perspectives, major projects and programs, Kaiserslautern is undertaking  as for example the program for development in the field “Socially integrated city–fields, requiring special needs for development”, project “Art on public places”,project “City without barriers”, intended to secure  architecturally accessible   environment for disability people, strategy to construct cultural and congress center in city , that is still in  process of elaboration and others,.  
The remaining cities, partners of Kaiserslautern also presented their experience and visions on the issue:  Saint Quentine (France) with presentation on the topic “Activities to overcome the problems  within the regions”; Silkeborg city, (Denmark) – “Presentation of interactive digital municipal plan”, Newham city  (Great Britain) – “Participation of young people in the economy of the city”, Bania Luka town (Bosnia and Herzegovina  ) – “Restoration of city’s center”, Brandenburg city (Germany) – “The future of the past”, Guimaraes  (Portugal) – “The experience of Guimaraes city”. The content reflected various policies to restore and renovate the cities, ideas to improve and develop the social and transport infrastructure, housing building, development of the economy, based on knowledge and innovating activities etc.  
A review was made in the summarized and concluding part of the conference on the submitted projects and intentions of consecutive procedures, regarding development and joint projects in the field of sustainable city’s planning, art, tourism, infrastructure etc.
Pleven delegation participated at the official reception of the city’s Mayor – Mr. Claus Weihel, where he underlined the significance of the established  partnership relations between the two cities and accepted  the official invitation to take part in the anniversaries of Pleven city on 15-th May.
