The Black Sea Technological Company, owned by the Italian company AMGA , will invest 76 million euro in a project for gasification of the region Mizia, the center of which is Pleven. The company won a bid in a competition against Techno-therm Engineering and Pleven Gas Company. Construction of the distribution net will begin next year. The BSTC intends to partner with the Toplofikazia Pleven, a steam distribution company, to construct the installation of the combined cycle. The total investment to build 235,000 km of net in Pleven will be approximately 30 million leva. The service will be used by 23,000 families. In the coming 5 years, 116 industrial plants and 250 public services are expected to be gasified. |

 A volunteer for the U.S. Peace Corps. starts in Pleven Municipality. The American, Wendy Lamar, from the Peace Corps. is a lawyer for environment and ecology. She has worked in a law firm in Seattle , Washington . Ms. Lamar is in Bulgarian from the beginning of August 2004 and studied for three months the Bulgarian language, intercultural-communication, and community development. Together with the municipal administration, Ms. Lamar will work on projects concerning environment, ecology, and tourism. |
