Official delegation of Municipality of Pleven led by the Mayor Nayden Zelenogorski visited the Spanish city of Segovia on invitation of the city’s Mayor Pedro Arauetes Garcia. Members of the delegation were the deputy mayors Dr. Valentin Mateev and engineer Ognyan Tsanev. The delegation of Pleven had a meeting with the management of Municipality of Segovia as specific steps for setting up partner relationships between both cities and cooperation in different areas were discussed.

The active summer tourist season in the town of Pleven was opened with the publication and presentation of a catalogue “Pleven – business tourism 2008” of the Municipality of Pleven. The catalogue  is published with the teamwork help of Club Tour  Remark, which activity popularizes the development of the tourism in the Balkans region, including Apriltsi, Teteven and Troyan. For several years the Municipality of Pleven fulfils active collaboration with Club Tour Remark with the purpose of exchange tourists in combination Balkans’ natural landmarks with the wealthy cultural and historical inheritance of Pleven.
On the occasion of opening the summer tourist season and presenting the catalogue was organized a big journalistic tour with the participation of leading national means of communication. 

Eight prestigious international awards from Iran received the graduates of Art School “Colour“ and their leader Maya Ananieva. The distinctions are from the fourth international exhibition - competition “Conservation of the water resourses", which took place in Teheran. Three of the talented children won the first prizes in the competition and gold poster and diplomas with their creations printed off, were awarded to them.
The jury awarded the first prize to Eleonora Tsvetanova (8), the second prize was for Carolina Hristova (9)

With  a honorary diploma for contribution to the development of the tourist advertisement  in Bulgaria was distinguished the film of Municipality of Pleven „A day in Pleven“ by the National Agency of Tourism and the jury of  the film festival „On the eastern coast of  Europe“. Autors of the film are Tania Stefanova, Plamen Hristov, Stefan Toutsev and Emil Ivanov.
The festival was carried out within the framework of The Fifth International Tourist Expose “Cultural tourism”, Veliko Turnovo, from 16 to 18 April 2008.
